Famous post-revolutionary US Historical flag signifying the Anti-Rent Wars of Upstate NY. This banner was carried by the Anti-Rent party of the Upper Hudson Valley on the Rensselaer Plateau and depicts an anti-renter "Calico" Indian. The original flag is kept by the Town of Grafton, NY. Long before Jimmy McMillan declared "The rent is too damn high!" the good people of Rensselaer County NY fought a small scale uprising against feudal style land ownership in the early to mid 1800's.
